I'm a software engineer, and I like owning the whole thing: the interface people click, the API behind it, and the queue and database that have to stay correct when everything happens at once.
Right now I lead engineering at Genesis Technologies (opens in a new tab). Previously, I owned the backend at Brane Technologies (opens in a new tab), where I kept production above 99.5% uptime after taking over reliability.
I'm also an avid open-source contributor, with changes merged into Caddy, pytest, ESLint and bitfield/script. One of them fixed a Caddy bug that let a config meant to enforce TLS 1.3 accept TLS 1.2 connections. See my open-source work.
I have a legal background, and it shapes how I build. I drafted DCLM's privacy policy, wrote a linter that flags GDPR risks in code, and built PII scrubbing into Ichtaka's trust and safety service.
Outside work, I'm learning Spanish (still a beginner, hence the hola) and reading books and manga. Someday I'd like to be a farmer, and to play some part in moving humanity forward.
